Where'd the pictures go?
Meanwhile, youth service at Superior Building, our Ministry Centre, has yet to start, and we had small groups outing on Sunday after service @ Vivo! All the girls, except for Shirley's small group, went for lunch at Subway, and it was a first for some! Pastor Heidi's started a craze among some of the girls with her Pizza Sub (that is NOT found on the menu board!). We're even craving for it right now as we type! =X
Shirley and her small group had the luxury of heading to Chermaine's place for fellowship!
The guys? I guess we'd have to ask them for details huh? Speaking of details, no one has sent us anything to post thus far! Guys, you GOTTA help us! We're picking our brains for stuff to blog about, and it would be nice to have something fresh. =D
Until then,
DRblogmembers.

Music from the Heavens.
I'm sure we've all been blessed by Pastor Alvaro Sanchez' sharing and of course his stunning musical talent!
To all you's who so sadly missed out (tsk tsk!), here's the low down on what went on and the pictures to tell the rest of the story.
Pastor Sanchez played a few classical songs both on his guitar and harp.
We all learnt that the guitar and harp are related! Mother and Daughter.
The harp is the sitera (?) and the guitar is the guitera (?)
WELL, He sure reminded us time and time again that playing like that is very EASY for him,
and I'm sure it is, for someone who practised 1 hour, 2 hour, 8, 16, WHOAH!
That's ALOT of commitment! No time for computer, TV, going out to play.
Jerome! Why don't you try that for just on day? =D
His fingers are so nimble, for a guy, and he has powerful coordination! His fingers moved so quickly that it came out blurred when we tried taking a picture!
I thought 'Little Drummer Boy' was really cool. I don't think any of us has seen people hooking 2 strings together to play the drum beat before. And pastor Sanchez shared with us that 'No man can teach this skill of playing', how cool is that? That God actually TEACHES him how to use the talent the He gave.
And on to the harp. It's probably the first time most of us hear the harp playing live huh, I know it was for me. And I don't know about you guys, but I was like CAPTIVATED by what I was hearing and seeing. It's such a strong, solid yet gentle instrument. Throw on a white robe and play away, and you'd have yourself a very-angel-like someone.
Pictures pictures pictures
Here are some pictures from jamming held yesterday! Just thought we'd give you guys a glimpse on the 'behind the scenes'.
Cheers! =D

So no excuses okay, bring your friend/s. Tell them about our special guest, Alvaro Sanchez (?), and tell them that he's played for Kings and Queens AND our President.
If their still not convinced, pray, and try again! =D

SUNDAY'S SUNDAE
TODAY! is a special day...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHIRLEY AND SIN ENG!!!
OKOK! so, the tagboard's currently down and we think we've to get a NEW one. NO FRET! You can still make your prayer request here:D WITHOUT a tagboard. Make your request and spill your trouble...lay back and let God do the work yea?
Like what Emily have said in the SMS she sent to auntie Anna(?) With every prayer Dunamis Rock make for each other...the more encouraged ALL OF US will be.
NOW! have a blessed week ahead of you and stay smiley:D
If you're visiting for the first time because of Pastor's advertisement during service, then WELCOME! We hope you like the ultra cool look of the blog =D
Well, for those of you who were not present in church for service today, here's what Pastor Simon shared with us:
Philippians 1
Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus,
To all the saints in Christ Jesus at Philippi, together with the overseers and deacons:
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart; for whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God's grace with me. God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ- to the glory and praise of God.
- Be thankful for what God has accomplished and be CONFIDENT in God's ability to accomplish His works.
-Paul could have been complaining to God, or praying for himself to be released from the prison, but he prayed for the church instead.- Cultivate Agape love towards people
Agape is the highest level of love- unconditional love; no strings attached.
1 Corinthians 13.
Anyway, if you pay attention to the right hand column, you'd realise that there's a new segment titled 'POWER IN PRAYER'. This is something new that we're using, and it is still under construction. It was done up in response to pastor's suggestion of putting up something for people to post their prayer requests, so that others can pray for them. So bear with us while we add some finishing touches to it!
Alrighty! Have a good week everybody, and don't worry too much about your exams. Do your best and let God do the rest! We'll be praying for you!
LOVE, DRblogmembers
Billy Bombers anyone?
Ever wondered who or what Billy Bombers is, and never bothered to read the little note on the menu? Well Pastor Heidi, Janine and Joram found out today and even put a waitress to the test. Thankfully the waitress with a nice smile and braces (compliments of Joram) passed.
Billy Bombers is the name of a pilot's TEDDY BEAR, the pilot who found Billy Bombers.
Now you know.. Just a little fun fact for you.
Well, Pastor Heidi had a first again today and that is dining at Billy Bombers and she sure had fun. The three also had a fun time filling in the feedback form with funny one-liners to brighten up the staffs' day. Following dinner, they went to look for Peter at TCC but sadly, he wasn't there. So they went on to Plaza Singapura and accompanied our dear drummer to buy his sticks, replacing the ones that he so proudly broke last week.
No pictures this time though as they were to engrossed with the good food and fun time, oh and maybe because of the absence of a camera. Hmm.
Oh incidentally, its Ernest's birthday today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROTHER! We love you!
Well see you guys tomorrow! =D

"POP" DISTRIBUTION
There is MORE to come...LOOK FORWARD:p
HUGS & PRAYERS
HAH! These two guys have just succeeded in leading their very first worship last and this Sunday. They were awesome! Give them a round of applause please...haha. The picture shows that they have just conquered their "1st time" fear and gain the courage to lead, to serve God with their talents. May God bless them even more and that their talents will grow more and more each day. Great Job Guys!
TINY GIRL'S FELLOWSHIP:D
HANGING out at NYDC :9
Girls with the brightest SMILES :D
Destiny's Child/Chicken Salad/Hawaiian Bake Pasta...yum!
and the GRAND finale! The jedi mudster! It really does taste good.
OKOK! So let's get back to business and not start drooling over those yummy food. The girls went out to have a fellowship and talked about their ideal "things" in life. And most importantly, the srtuggles of a girl which considerably leads to the one and only Rachel:) We shall keep that a secret>shh... Anyways! You must be thinking, why must we be always meeting up and enjoy life with one another. It's not about having fun, it's about getting to know more about each other. I know,I know... why is there always news about the girls meeting up? NO BOYS?! Well, apparently...they have not sent any pictures to US! Haha, now you know... SO! Get your fingers cracking and send us those mails of your mini meetings with fellow DRs! We can't wait to hear from you.
TWO MORE THINGS! The exams are coming...so do pray for those who are currently stuck with their end of year paper and MOST importantly pray for those who are sitting for their "O", "N" and "A" levels... :P
ONE MORE THING TO GO! Sleep early, make your way to church on 2pm and we shall distribute coke cans to the public in East Coast Park...
We'll be back...DR Blog Members:)
Outreach Reminder!
Remember about our outreach tomorrow alright! We'll be distributing thirst-quenching Coca Cola at East Coast Park. Be at church by 2, and bring together with you your spirit of service!
Oh! Not forgetting the weather! Pray for good weather so that there'll be youths there for us to bless and that we'll have a good time!
Cya~
Just a short one for a prayer request!
Can eveyone pray for Janine, Joram and Sabrina, that God will make a way for them to make it for the missions trip. Remember, prayer is power! And when we all pray together, miracles do happen!
Let's do it for God and the thai kids alright!
See you all tomorrow in church!

Don't lose them!
Making a commitment!
No more once-a-month-posts, or claims to blog more often, 'cos we are back in action! There's been a slight change in our DRblog members, and the blog has been activated for good. Weekly posts can be expected. HOWEVER, we need YOUR help too! Weekly updates from us will get kind of boring, so we need YOU fellow Dunamis Rockers to help us. Feel free to send us anything! Testimonies, updates on small group outings, reflections? You write it, we'll post it! Send in your writings to DRaft-@hotmail.com
Moving on, some DR-essers went for an outing today in Escape! Not the best theme park in the world, but they had fun alright! AND, they learnt new things about each other:
Pastor Heidi does not like rides that go spinning around
Rachel would rather be on a ride she doesn't like, than being a bag-holder
Janine will go on any ride and enjoys posing for the cameras on rides!
Jeslin is a GOOD go-kart driver and she goes on every ride too!
Christine does not like Wet and Wild, the water ride.
They also showed people that girls can drive well too! No hesitating with stepping on the gas, or screechy sudden brakes! Guys, girls CAN drive. Go-karts, for now.
Oh and the best part of this outing, Pastor Heidi did something new! She tried Para-Para, and got a C on her first attempt! YAY Pastor Heidi!
The girls definitely had a lot of fun hanging out with each other, and it was a well spent day. All went well with the weather cos they prayed beforehand and God answered! So don't forget to pray for everything and anything. God never tires of hearing our prayer!
Blessings!

Happy Holidays?
The Youth's Music Ministry has a stayover last Saturday and it was a success!!! We ate Pizzas, chicken wings, kway tiao, some kway(?) and shreds of chicken which is so weird coz apparently Joram wanted to use it to make sandwich BUT Yu Xuan forget to do shopping that morning. Must be the soccer fever that's going on or something:D
Today is the day when Pastor Simon, Pastor Heidi, Andy,Ben,Rachel and Pamela are going off to Palembang for missions. We are so going to miss them:( But it's great to know that they are off to do the works of God.Let's all pray for them alright? May God bless them a safe trip and that no one will be hurt during this week. Love you guys:D
Going off to the airport now to send them off...
But before we go,just a gentle reminder to ALWAYS do your QT:)
Dunamis Rock
Over with Busy...NOT!
Ok,I'm lame...So,even though the production is over, we still can't relax yet. Lots of the youths have their mid-year exams on the way and there's preparation for our very 1st June Mission Trip. Can't wait!So here's a gentle reminder to everyone to pray for each other's well being as I know that many of us are terribly sick...erhem,including me.LOL.So, pray that everyone will have the time to study, play and most importantly have the time to have their QT with God.
That's all i got to say for now...
May God bless all of you:)
Jes

Anyway, here's alittle reminder for tomorrow's programme. We'll be having a guest speaker tomorrow night so do make sure you show up alright?Regardless of how late your school ends. Wahaha. It will start at 7. Guest speaker will be none other than Pastor Julie Khoo:) There will also be another service at 10 during Saturday morning sooo do turn up! Don't follow our youth's trend of waking up late.Haha.
So,just hope that all of you'll have a wonderful month of March and just continue to pray to our father Lord and let him be your light that leads you to the right direction.Just remember our 40 days prayer and try to fast alright? You can either fast through the:

Small-Talk
This Sunday, many of us has changed our small groups yet some didn't.This is what basically happened during my small group which consist of Ruth,Ivy(small group leader-she's kinda nervous about the whole thing so please do give her some encouragement.),Esther Lee, Elizabeth Chua,Christine,Cheryl and me.
Well,it all started with Ivy intoducing herself and talking bout what Pastor Simon have said earlier in his sermon.About putting God F.I.R.S.T in our lives. We than shared about what is that one thing that we think that will prevent us from spending more time with God.Some of us said that it will be their Finances while others will say either their schedule or interest.Through this sharing,we learnt more about each other and gave each other advises on how to prevent whatever things that might prevent us from God.We ended our small group with a prayer led by Ruth.
It's definitely fun to be able to change and hang with a different small group and I hope that all of you will feel the same as well. :) Just remember to continue to pray not only for your small group members but the whole entire youth group and may God bless your following week ahead.
Jes
Putting God F.I.R.S.T.
"To have a successful 2006, we need to put God first in different areas of our lives."
Finances
Interests
Relationships
Schedules
Troubles
Finances. We have to tithe to God because He deserves it. Giving our first fruits to the Lord is the first step to having a successful christian life with Him. We cannot proclaim we love our God if we do not tithe.
Interests. In all that we do, our interests occupy a lot of our time. Learning to put God first above these interests that we have is another step to having a beautiful relationship with Him. Is God taking anything but first place when it comes to our interests?
Relationships. God commands to love Him more than our spouses, family, friends, and even our own lives. Do we put more time and effort building friendships than having our daily Quiet Time with the Saviour of the world? Are we putting Him first in relationships?
Schedules. We all have things we need to do. We all have CCAs and sports. Have these taken first place in our lives? God wants to commune with us every single day. He wants us to seek Him everyday. Have we left God out in our schedule?
Troubles. It's never easy to put God above your troubles. When times are tough, you sometimes don't know who to turn to. Well, God, is and will always, be there for you. Can you trust Him enough to let Him lead you out of your troubles?
